Asia Reopening

Many Asian countries, including Vietnam, are gradually opening up to tourism completely, with open entry policies but still prioritizing the safety of visitors

VIETNAM

In the context of countries gradually adapting to the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam also officially opened completely to tourism from March 15. International travelers entering Vietnam who test negative for nCoV do not need to be isolated. Compared to many countries in the region, Vietnam’s quarantine regulations and entry policies are quite similar

THAILAND 

The government of this country implemented the Test & Go program with a short health monitoring period, without isolation, to attract tourists. Before the trip, visitors must buy insurance and have a Thailand Pass (Thailand passport). Recently, Thailand has removed the regulation of RT-PCR testing on the 5th day of the trip to create more favorable conditions for tourists.

CAMBODIA

Cambodia is fully open to vaccinated travelers without quarantine. Guests no longer need a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to departure or a negative RTK test upon arrival. Reopening the Visa On Arrival service for all international travelers by air, land and see by meeting the immigration requirements as previously implemented prior to the global pandemic of Covid-19

LAOS 

Laos officially opened to welcome foreign tourists to visit the green tourist areas. According to the plan, only two international border gates (Wattay International airport and Laos-Thai Friendship Bridge international border gate) will be allowed to welcome foreign tourists entering Laos. Fully vaccinated tourists must follow the group through the service of a travel company; have life insurance, have a certificate of negative test for Covid-19 by PT-PCR device no later than 72 hours before departure. When arriving in Laos, they must take a quick test and be isolated for 24 hours to wait for test results. Visitors must download the LaoStay Safe application to register and declare full dose vaccination information; they must buy health insurance with a minimum guarantee of 50,000US$.  

SINGAPORE

Tourists can start applying for a Vaccine Travel Pass (VTP) from 13 March and enter Singapore without having to undergo isolation from 16 March. Tourists need to present a vaccination certificate recognized by a Singaporean authority, performing a PCR or antigen test (ART) within 48 hours before departure. These travelers will be required to travel on government-designated flights and buses and undergo rapid testing at a testing center in Singapore for up to 24 hours from entry.

MALAYSIA

From 01 April, Malaysia will fully open its borders and move to the stage of considering Covid-19 as an endemic disease. After this time, international guests who have received the Covid-19 vaccine, have negative RT-PCR test results within 48 hours, will be allowed to enter Malaysia without isolation

INDONESIA

In order to attract international tourists back after the Covid-19 epidemic, the Indonesian government plans to expand the visa on arrival (VOA) policy. After opening the tourist island of Bali to tourists in early February, they decided to test the quarantine exemption for visitors.

JAPAN

Japan eased border control regulations from 14 March, raising the entry limit to 7,000 people per day with priority given to foreign students. However, the Government still holds a cautious view on Covid-19 epidemic in the country with the expansion of restrictive measures to prevent and control the infection in some areas, including the capital Tokyo.

MYANMAR

Myanmar’s military government said it would resume flights for international tourists entering the country from 17 April, after two years of banning entry due to political events and the Covid-19 pandemic. Those who want to enter the country must be quarantined for a week and have two PCR tests along with a certificate of full vaccination
