Day 1: Halong Bay one day
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi at 8:30 am for the drive to Halong Bay in one of our comfortable air-conditioned vehicles. Arriving at Halong Bay you will make your way to the wharf and board your boat for your four-hour cruise.
Once on board, you will enjoy a scrumptious local seafood lunch as you drift past the limestone cliffs. As you eat you will pass by the beautiful Stone Dog (Hòn Chó Đá), Incense Burner (Hòn Đỉnh Hương), and Fighting Cock Islands (Hòn Gà Chọi) as your guide explains the history of the bay and the stories behind these islands. You might recognise Incense Burner Island for being on the 200,000vnd note.
Following lunch your cruise continues around the bay, we stop to visit the Heaven Palace (Hang Thiên Cung) and Driftwood (Đầu Gỗ) Caves. Both the 10,000 square-meter Heaven Palace Cave and the 5,000 square-meter Driftwood cave offer visitors a number of halls to explore as well as breathtaking natural reliefs and stalactites and stalagmites.
Back on the boat, you will continue to cruise around the bay, weaving between the beautiful cliffs and emerald green waters. Hopefully, the sun is shining and the bay will look glisten under the sun.
We return to the wharf at 4:00 pm, your boat will dock as you savour the last views of the bay before heading back to Hanoi.
