Day 1: Hoa Lu & Trang An Day Tour
If you’re looking for a break from the chaos that is Hanoi, we recommend taking this day tour for a peaceful break.
At 8:00 am our guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Hoa Lu in one of our comfortable air-conditioned vehicles. Arriving at Hoa Lu around 10:00 am, you will explore the village that was the capital of Vietnam during the 10thcentury. During its glory days, Hoa Lu covered 3 square kilometres and included an inner and outer citadel. Though the citadels no longer stand, Hoa Lu is home to a number of well-preserved temples, dedicated to emperors of the era.
We arrive in Trang An in time for lunch at a local restaurant. After enjoying the meal we will take a leisurely three-hour boat tour through this peaceful “outdoor ecological museum.” The tour floats past the beautiful landscape of rich foliage, secluded temples, and limestone hills. Be on the lookout for white goats which graze on the steep slopes! You will also journey into the beautiful Trang An Hollows, a system of caves in the limestone hills. At 4:00 pm the boat returns to land and the tour is finished.
As we drive back to Hanoi, enjoy the sunset as we pass back through the county roads and villages. We arrive in Hanoi around 6:30 pm and you be delivered straight to your hotel.
