  • Cambodia is becoming one of the most favorite destinations in Asia thanks for its natural beauty, amazing heritage sites, and smiling people. Hidden Treasure of Cambodia trip starts in Siem Riep, the gateway to the majestic ruins of Angkor including Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Terrace of Elephant, Grand and Small Circuits, Banteay Srei, Rolous Group etc. We also have chance to take a boat trip over the water of Tonle Sap Lake to see the floating fisherman’s villages for a closer view of the local lifestyle. From here, we travel by road to Phnom Penh passing Kampong Thom where you can visit the ancient capital of Chenla with its 100 temples from the pre-Angkor period. The next destination is Sihanouk Ville which is very quickly emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s premier beach destinations thanks for its white sandy beaches and clear blue waters.   • Day 1: Siem Riep arrival – Rolous Group (-/-/-)

    Siem Riep – Airport: 7km, 15min drive

    cambodia tour tonkin travelUpon arrival at Siem Riep airport, you will be met and transferred to hotel by our guide and driver. After making sure of your successful hotel check-in, they will be pleased to leave you free time for your own lunch and leisure to recover after the long flight.

    In the afternoon, we start visit to the Roluos Group including three major temples: Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko. The monuments of Roluos, which served as the capital of Indravarman I (reigned 877-89), are among the earliest large, permanent temples built by the Khmers and mark the beginning of Khmer classical art. Preah Ko erected by Indravarman I in the late 9th century dedicated by the King to his ancestors in 880. Bakong the largest and most interesting of the Roluos group temples, with his active Buddhist monastery just to the north of the east entrance. Lolei built on an islet in the center of a large reservoir (now rice fields) by Yasovarman I, the founder to the first city at Angkor.

    Day 2: Siem Riep – Ta Prohm – Angkor Wat – Angkor Thom (B/L/-)

    ta prohm tonkin travelEarly morning, we visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever. And continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat - one of the world’s most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art.. At 09am come back to hotel for breakfast and rest in the noon to avoid of the heats of the day until 15:00 continue exploring the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom whose 50-tower Bayon temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area.

    Day 3: Siem Riep – Banteay Srei – Banteay Samre – Phnom Krom (B/L/-)

    banteay Srei tonkin travelAfter breakfast at hotel, 6:30: we enjoy a drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva. The temple was the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man. On the way back we visit to Banteay Samre temple. Return to hotel for relaxation and swimming at your hotel during the noon to avoid of the heats of the day until 16:00 we drive to Phnom Krom which is located on the bank of Tonle Sap Lake, visit the local family and learning about how the working on the rice field and fishing. Then we drive up to the top of Phnom Krom Hill to view the sunset.

    Day 4: Siem Riep – Beng Melea – Tonle Sap Lake (B/L/-)

    Beng Melea temple tonkin travelAfter breakfast, we visit to Beng Melea temple which is 60km from Siem Reap and then visit to Kompong Khleang Village by boat and keep cruising another 1 hour through the Great Lake of Tonle Sap, lunch box will be provided on boat. On arrival at Kompong Phhluk Village, visit the local pagoda and typical houses build on stilt from 4 to 5 meters. Our boat continues cruising through the flooded forest to reach our vehicle and transfer back to Siem Reap Town.

    Day 5: Siem Riep – West Barray cycling (B/L/-)

Cycling around the stunning 8km long West Baray and through the surrounding countryside, you will really get a sense of rural living. Almost unchanged for centuries, palm leaf and bamboo constructed stilted huts house a community, where age- old methods of cooking are employed by local women, and are explained and can even be sampled. Leisurely cycling through striking countryside, you will also visit a handful of hidden temples, unknown even to some locals.

    Day 6: Siem Riep – Kampong Thom (B/L/-)

    Siem Riep – Kampong Thom: 147km, ~3h drive

On the way visit traditional villages and stop at the ancient Naga Bridge (Spean Pratpo) is located 40 km from Siem Reap. Arrive in Kampong Thom and transfer to your hotel. Lunch is at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you drive from Kampong Thom for Sambor Prei Kuk, located 35 km northeast of Kampong Thom. Visit the ancient capital of Chenla with its 100 temples from the pre-Angkor period. Return to Kampong Thom.

    Kampong Thom – Phnom Penh: 260km, ~5h drive

    Wat Kohear Nokor tonkin travelHave breakfast at the hotel and we will depart for Kampong Cham. On the way, we stop in Phum Prasat, with its single ancient temple. Then drive towards Kampong Cham. Continuing on our way to visit Wat Kohear Nokor, from the 11th Century, and then you will visit Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and the pagoda from the 12th Century. Lunch is at a local restaurant. Have a short tour in Kampong Cham to view examples of colonial architecture. Drive to Chhup, a rubber plantation, the first in the region and by the French tire manufacturer Michelin founded. Late afternoon arrive in Phnom Penh.

    Day 8: Phom Penh City (B/L/-)

    phnom penh tonkin travelBreakfast is at the hotel and then we enjoy Phnom Penh city tour starting by the Victory Monument, and the National Museum, also known as the Museum of Fine Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in 1917 in the Khmer style. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art, especially sculpture from all eras. Visit the Royal Palace of King Norodom built in 1866 on the grounds of the old city, and the Silver Pagoda. It is located in the royal palace, called the Silver Pagoda, because there is a floor of 5000 silver tiles. Other treasures, which you will see are a Buddha made of solid gold and weighing 90 kilograms and a small emerald Buddha from the 17th Century, and baccarat crystal Buddha. Lunch is at the hotel. Then visit the infamous Tuol Sleng museum. In 1975, the Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot's security forces and used as a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21) become. It soon became apparent as the largest such centre of detention and torture in the country.

    If your trip includes domestic flights if any, they will be operated by Vietnam Airlines, the largest airline in Vietnam. The fleet consists mainly of Airbus and Boeing. On some short trips, the company operates 72 ATR and some Fokker.

    Rail transport

    Train travel can be offered (particularly between Hanoi-Lao Cai and Hanoi-Hue). Travelling at a speed of 60km/h on average it is not necessarily the fastest but an interesting experience nonetheless.
