We are finally back home and are now digesting our many excellent experiences.

I am still quite jet lagged and will therefor leave a short feedback of our trip:

Firstly you were amazing in organising every little detail of our trip and we will most definitely recommend your services to all our friends and family AND once we are ready to embark on another adventure – we will discover Cambodia and the Mekong Delta and will be contacting you again to arrange everything.

1. Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City – hotel was really well located, breakfast was good, room okay. Our Guide FANTASTIC – friendly, very knowledgeable and informative!!!
2. Danang – Hoi An & Hue – hotel in Hoi An AMAZING – cannot fault it at all! Hotel in Hue – Good – large bedrooms, French provincial style, good breakfast. Guide was late at the airport and I had to contact you on a Sunday (sorry about this) but he ended up being very helpful and did his job following the itinerary, even though it was raining on and off we managed to see and experience everything.
3. Hanoi – hotel location very good, rooms a little small but clean and staff in the hotel extremely helpful and polite – very good customer relationship management team and breakfast team…..just lovely. Guide was nice – sorry my own personal experience – not so impressed walking past Ho Chi Minh’s coffin – I suppose this is Vietnam’s history, which I wanted to learn about. I probably would have wanted some more photos of French villas that Hanoi is famous for, but we just drove past a few villas and did not really get the chance to photograph them. It was lovely to meet you in person and thank you again for all the gifts you handed to us.
4. Halong Bay – the highlight of our trip – we had an amazing experience on the boat which was very well fitted out. Our room was lovely – the staff (Manager and serving staff) were absolutely lovely. The food was excellent! Even though it rained on and off, we still got to enjoy everything. I was a little disappointed about the rubbish floating in the water and feel that this needs to be taken care of by the local authorities as if it continues like this your beautiful Halong Bay will no longer be an attraction to anybody.

Last not least your professionalism and organisation made this trip a wonderful memory for us.

Hello all at Tonkin Voyave Travel

Re our 28 day tour through Vietnam in October

We are "seniors" in our late 70's who live in New Zealand and we have been fortunate to have done a lot of wonderful trips/tours in the last 15 years exploring many parts of the world. We had never been to Vietnam, so post covid it was first on our list to explore. 

We were very fortunate to find/stumble on  Tonkin Voyage Travel when googling Vietnamese based Travel companies.

They organise private, comfortable tailored trips for all ages and group sizes. We were looking for a private tour catering to our age and interests. Ms Vy from Tonkin Travel replied almost immediately to my first email enquiry and within a week had come back with a detailed suggested itinerary with choices of 3 or 4 star boutique accommodation, 28 days with a private vehicle and driver and an English speaking guide.

We had specified we wanted everything included and time for a siesta everyday and a few completely free rest days. Ms Vy really listened and provided a near perfect detailed itinerary exploring Hanoi and the beautiful rural north then flying to central Vietnam to explore the beautiful ancient cities of Hue and Hoi An, then flying to Saigon and experiencing the completely differrent South Vietnam and the Mekong Delta.

From start to finish Tonkin Voyage Travel organised a flawless tour with very professional guides and we left with a marvellous feel for this wonderful  country and its people, its culture, its history and last but not least, its wonderful food.

Ms Vys communications from start to finish were prompt and efficient. We have never had such a good value for money trip. The private vehicles were all late model SUVs the accommodation luxury boutique and food sensational.

If i was to offer any feed back it is only to say that the last 5 days we spent on the Mekong Delta and returning to Saigon for 1 night perhaps didnt warrant a full time  guide for all those days.

But over all I couldnt recommend this travel company more. We did approach another travel company with a similar.request for a 28 day tailored package and they simply didnt compete.

Hello Vy,

We are home and now have had time to reflect on our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.

Firstly, We are tremendously grateful for all you help and assistance both before and during our trip. You are so quick to respond and offer such excellent service and it was lovely to have dinner with you on our first night in Hanoi. Therefore my comments below are not problems but to help you provide even better service to your clients in the future. We are happy to act as a reference to you with other prospective clients.

So here you go……

Hanoi. Our guide in Hanoi Mr Chien was our weakest of our guides and it felt like he wanted to get through the day as quickly as possible. We strongly recommend that sightseeing is done in the morning until early afternoon and then there is a gap for a few hours before the food tour. We loved the things we saw and did

Halong Bay. We loved Halong Bay and I would have been disappointed if we had chosen only one night on the boat

Hoi Ann. We loved it here and our guide Sau. We suggest that rather than go to Danang we would rather have spent the morning in Hoi Ann on the second day and not bothered going into Danang and driven straight to Hue.

Hue. We loved Hue and we should have taken your advice on hotel here as the Scarlett Boutique was not the standard of the other hotels we stayed in

Ho Chi Minh City was great and a day was long enough.

Mekong Delta. Loved our female guide also Sau here. We enjoyed our time, think more knowledge of tide times is needed as high tides stopped us doing certain things. Also the boat really needs a bit of the refurbishment

Siem Reap. Was great and loved the Shinta Mani Hotel and the team there. Should be pointed out that the temple tour days are half days and not full days as other activities could have been planned. Our driver in Siem Reap had a Tuk Tuk and gave us a tour at night of the city which we loved. Guide and Driver were great here too

Phonm Penn. Had a great time here and Sony our guide was amazing. We loved the speedboat to Chau Doc and would recommend as an alternative way to return to Vietnam

Phu Quoc. Our week at Green Bay Resort was so relaxing and we loved the hotel. Think you should let clients know that not all the hotel is working. They had very inexperienced staff at the hotel too.

Overall, It would be good if you had provided us in advance with contacts at each new destination rather than me having to ask for them, a small but important point.

But as I have said we have had an amazing trip and the pace overall suited us brilliantly and we cannot praise you enough for your help and support.

We will definitely be recommending you and your company to friends.

I hope you start to get busier as the season goes on

Thank you for your message. We are slowly getting back to normal after our trip to Vietnam!

We had an amazing time on our trip. We can honestly say there were no issues from start to finish. It was lovely to meet with you in your office and we felt reassured that we had chosen a great Company to travel with.

The guides you had arranged for us were very professional but friendly and welcoming at the same time. We learnt so much about everyday life in Vietnam from them as well as the area we were visiting.

The accommodation was all well presented and met our needs. We have no complaints regarding this. The only thing we would say, is it would have been nice to had milk provided in our rooms for the tea (us English do like milk in our tea!) but that is not a complaint, it just would have been a nice touch.

We really appreciate all your hard work in organising our trip and changing part of the itinerary to better suit us at the Mekong Delta was much appreciated.

We will not hesitate to recommend your Company to family and friends.

Let me start by apologising for the long delay in writing back to you since our departure from our Vietnam and Cambodia holiday. We had to initially do all the gifts we purchased and then start cleaning up the house. !! We have both started work and it feels so surreal to adapt back into reality.
 
Well with regards to the trip organised via Tonkin Voyage Travels and especially by yourself for my family and myself, it was just wonderful, We had no idea of the immense work and planning that  was so precisely and  well organised  in detail as per our request and time limitations, especially not to mention the many alterations that we made from time to time, and you handled them with professionalism and understanding.

Vy, you prepared us by providing us with all the required information regarding out travel, visas requirements, hotel bookings. keeping us updated as required. Your itinerary for our trip was very detailed and precise to our needs and when we needed changes to it, you had no problem or hesitation in obliging to our requests. You were with us on line right up to the very day we were flying into Vietnam. Most importantly, you took time away from other commitments,like your staff party, staying back late in your office to meet us upon arrival into Vietnam. These commitments and sacrifices were very commendable on your part, and very  much, and highly appreciated, assisting us to commence our trip in the right manner.

The tour guides that you and your company organised  for our trip, Mr. Chien ( north), Ms Dong (central) and Mr. Lam( south), and also in Cambodia ,were all  very professional, understanding, aware of our needs and most of all, helpful. They were not only professional, but very knowledgeable on the various places and explaining the very interesting and informative history that surrounds these places. They took into consideration our capabilities and assisted us at all times, and most importantly kept us informed on every aspect of the areas that we visited. We were able to talk to them freely , and they have now become our friends !!

The various hotel accommodation that you and your company organised as per our request in the various cities, were well located, with the appropriate facilities, and warm, friendly service staff  was really comforting and made us feel welcome especially after our touring in the area.

I was especially taken back how you with your busy schedule at work found the time to surprise me with a gift and cake on my birthday when we landed in Vietnam. This was something special, and had a very personal touch, THANK YOU for this wonderful gesture. It was very much appreciated!

Let me simply put it as a well organised trip for my family and I, from you Vy and your company, Tonkin VoageTravel.  I have no hesitation in recommending your company to all m friends and colleagues. I have in fact been talking to many about how much we really enjoyed our trip, and how well  organised our trip was by you and your company Tonkin Voyage Travel.
